occamsparser is a text / toy / tool: a prose poem contained within a console frame allowing the reader to algorithmically redact and edit the poem in accordance with customizable parameters.

the effects of the options for programmatic redaction are left for the reader to explore. however it should be noted that the first field, source, will accept as input any valid publicly accessible internet address. the initial text is intended to be the introductory redaction target, but any page on the internet (including this info page; you may run operations on it right now, using the sidebar) is fair game, and may become, should the reader so desire, an extension of this process and piece.

a prior offline version of this project with contributions from other writers was included in the glossolalia exhibition at gallery aferro, newark nj, in 2006.
